About Smarts — Live Docs For Every Smart Contract

Smarts provides live documentation and inspection tools for verified smart contracts on Ethereum, Base, Arbitrum, Optimism, and Polygon. It is intended for AI agents and offers contract source, state, event, token, and pool data through a single endpoint.

Key features

  1. 01Contract metadata and classification
  2. 02Verified Solidity source lookup
  3. 03ERC-20 supply and market data
  4. 04Governance and recent event history
  5. 05Contract state and address inspection
  6. 06Uniswap V3 pool data

Use cases

  1. 01Check whether a token contract is paused
  2. 02Review privileged changes and upgrades
  3. 03Read a contract view function
  4. 04Inspect pool liquidity and TVL

MCP support

Provides an MCP endpoint at https://smarts.md/mcp using Streamable HTTP. MCP clients can call tools for contract metadata, source, state, events, token information, address inspection, and Uniswap V3 pools.

Configuration

Remote servers need no local install. Pick your client, then copy the config or install in one click.

Endpointhttps://smarts.md/mcp/sse
Copy install command
Claude CodeTerminal
Cursor.cursor/mcp.json
VS Code.vscode/mcp.json
Claude Desktopclaude_desktop_config.json
Windsurf~/.codeium/windsurf/mcp_config.json

Run commands in a terminal; paste JSON into the client’s MCP config and restart. Servers that need sign-in will prompt on first connect.

ParameterTypeRequiredDescription
slugstringNoCurated slug like 'uni-eth' or 'univ3-usdc-weth-eth'. Alternative to chain+address.
chainstringNoChain slug. Tier 1 (live data): eth, base, arbitrum, optimism, bnb, polygon, robinhood, arc. Tier 2 (source + ABI only): linea, unichain, berachain, blast, sonic, mantle, gnosis, celo, fraxtal, taiko, world, abstract. Required unless `slug` is given.
addressstringNoThe 0x-prefixed EVM contract address. Required unless `slug` is given.

Curated shortcuts

Use slugs anywhere a tool accepts slug; Smarts resolves them to chain + address.

  • Stablecoins: usdc-eth, usdt-eth, dai-eth, usde-eth, susde-eth, pyusd-eth, usdc-base, usdc-arbitrum, usdc-optimism, usdc-polygon
  • Governance tokens: uni-eth, aave-eth, comp-eth, mkr-eth, sky-eth, ldo-eth, arb-arbitrum, op-optimism, aero-base
  • Protocol contracts: univ3-factory-eth, univ3-swaprouter-eth, aavev3-pool-eth, aavev3-pool-base, aavev3-pool-arbitrum
  • Pools: univ3-usdc-weth-eth, univ3-usdt-weth-eth, univ3-wbtc-weth-eth, univ3-dai-usdc-eth

Ask your AI

  • "Is usdc-eth paused right now?"
  • "TVL of univ3-usdc-weth-eth?"
  • "Who is 0xd8dA6BF26964aF9D7eEd9e03E53415D37aA96045?"
  • "Total supply of usdc-arbitrum."

Stack

Rails 8 + Postgres 17 + Hotwire + Tailwind, deployed via Kamal 2 to Hetzner. No TypeScript, no Node services. MCP server via the official mcp Ruby SDK.

New to MCP?

From what the protocol is to installing your first server, these answers cover most first questions.

An open protocol that defines how AI applications connect to external tools and data in a uniform way. Clients talk to the model; MCP servers provide tools, resources and prompt templates. They exchange standard messages, so one server can be reused by many clients.
