About Banquish

Banquish is a live-web workspace tool used with its Apple silicon Mac app, combining relevant parts of real pages, such as prices, charts, and tables. It is for users who want agents to answer from live page content; its MCP shim relays requests to the app and can open it when needed.

Key features

  1. 01Extracts relevant content from real pages
  2. 02Combines page content into a Workspace
  3. 03Keeps displayed content live
  4. 04Relays MCP through the local app
  5. 05Shows tool guidance when the app is absent

Use cases

  1. 01Review prices gathered from multiple pages
  2. 02Display web charts or tables in a Workspace
  3. 03Configure Banquish MCP for an agent

MCP support

The MCP server uses a locally installed shim to relay client requests to the Banquish app and can launch the app if it is closed. If the shim is missing, it provides the tool list and installation instructions, while tool calls return an installation prompt.

Configuration

Local server config is the same for every client. Copy it into your client’s MCP config file.

mcp.json · Universal config
{
"mcpServers": {
"space-banquish-banquish": {
"command": "npx",
"args": [
"-y",
"banquish-mcp"
]
}
}
}
Run commandnpx -y banquish-mcp

Local servers need a runtime on your machine (e.g. Node.js 18+). Config file locations differ by client; see your client’s docs.

From the project README

banquish-mcp

The MCP server of Banquish, for any MCP client.

Banquish is a Mac app (Apple silicon) that lets your agent answer with the live web: it opens the real pages, takes the parts that answer you (a price, a chart, a player, a table) and composes them into a Workspace you see. Those parts stay live.

Use it

Install the Banquish app first, from banquish.space or with Homebrew:

brew install --cask banquish-app/tap/banquish

Open Banquish once: each launch installs ~/.banquish/bin/banquish, the shim this package runs. For Claude Code, Codex and Claude Desktop, its Connect your agent card sets everything up with one click, and Claude Code users can add the Banquish plugin. For any other client, under Connect your agent open Any other MCP client and click Copy for a configuration you can use as it is. Or give the client this package:

{
  "mcpServers": {
    "banquish": {
      "command": "npx",
      "args": ["-y", "banquish-mcp"]
    }
  }
}

What it does

banquish-mcp runs ~/.banquish/bin/banquish mcp, the stdio shim the Banquish app installs, with stdio passed straight through. The shim relays MCP to the Banquish app on your Mac and opens Banquish if it's closed. This package has no dependencies and sends nothing anywhere itself.

If the shim is missing, banquish-mcp prints how to install Banquish to stderr and serves Banquish's MCP surface itself, so clients and directories can see what it offers without the app: it answers initialize (and server/discover for 2026-07-28 clients) with Banquish's instructions, and tools/list with Banquish's tools. Every tool call returns an error that says how to install Banquish. The tool list is exported from the app into tools.json by npm run export-tools, run with Banquish open.

New to MCP?

From what the protocol is to installing your first server, these answers cover most first questions.

An open protocol that defines how AI applications connect to external tools and data in a uniform way. Clients talk to the model; MCP servers provide tools, resources and prompt templates. They exchange standard messages, so one server can be reused by many clients.
