About MCP Registry Search

MCP Registry Search is a remote MCP server for AI agents and LLMs to discover and inspect entries in the official MCP registry. It offers pagination, metadata lookup, and keyword search without requiring authentication.

Key features

  1. 01Paginate the full server registry
  2. 02Retrieve server metadata by reverse-DNS name
  3. 03Search by server name or keyword

Use cases

  1. 01Find MCP servers at runtime
  2. 02Search using a plain server name
  3. 03Route requests to discovered servers
  4. 04Monitor or audit registry entries

MCP support

Provides three tools over Streamable HTTP for MCP clients to browse, search, and inspect the official MCP registry. No authentication is required.

Configuration

Remote servers need no local install. Pick your client, then copy the config or install in one click.

MCP Registry Search

One connection. Access to every MCP server in the official MCP registry.

Endpoint: https://mcpregistrysearchwilfredleejr.vercel.app/api/mcp Transport: streamable-http Auth: None required Registry: io.github.Spacemandomains/mcp-registry-search

What it does

Gives any AI agent or LLM the ability to dynamically discover, search, and inspect every server in the official Model Context Protocol registry — at runtime, with no hardcoded tool knowledge.

Tools

  1. list_mcp_servers — paginate the full registry
  2. get_mcp_server_details — get full metadata for any server by reverse-DNS name
  3. search_mcp_registry — search servers by plain name or keyword

Connect

Add this endpoint to any MCP-compatible client:

https://mcpregistrysearchwilfredleejr.vercel.app/api/mcp

Use cases

  • Agent-driven tool discovery
  • Search by plain name instead of reverse-DNS
  • Dynamic MCP server routing
  • Registry monitoring and auditing
  • Building meta-agents that orchestrate other MCP servers

New to MCP?

From what the protocol is to installing your first server, these answers cover most first questions.

An open protocol that defines how AI applications connect to external tools and data in a uniform way. Clients talk to the model; MCP servers provide tools, resources and prompt templates. They exchange standard messages, so one server can be reused by many clients.
