Key features

  1. 01Connect to a local MongoDB instance
  2. 02Expose database operations as callable tools
  3. 03Register tools through ToolCallbackProvider
  4. 04Test with MCP clients

Use cases

  1. 01Calling MongoDB operations from an MCP client
  2. 02Testing database tools with Claude desktop app

MCP support

Exposes MongoDB operations as tools that MCP clients can call.

From what the protocol is to installing your first server, these answers cover most first questions.

An open protocol that defines how AI applications connect to external tools and data in a uniform way. Clients talk to the model; MCP servers provide tools, resources and prompt templates. They exchange standard messages, so one server can be reused by many clients.
