About SQLite MCP Server
SQLite MCP Server is a lightweight server that lets LLMs interact with SQLite databases. It runs against a database file specified at launch and provides database tools to MCP clients.
Key features
- 01Connects to a SQLite database file
- 02Configurable database path at launch
- 03Provides database tools to MCP clients
- 04Python-based installation and startup
Use cases
- 01Letting an LLM work with a SQLite database
- 02Configuring access to a specific database file
MCP support
Exposes tools for interacting with SQLite databases to MCP clients. The server is launched with a database file path.
Configuration
Local server config is the same for every client. Copy it into your client’s MCP config file.
We haven’t collected a package or remote endpoint for this server. Follow the instructions in the project README.
Tools
Local servers expose tools only once running on your machine, and the maintainer has not provided a tool list.
Details
From the project READMESQLite MCP Server
A lightweight Model Context Protocol (MCP) server that enables Large Language Models (LLMs) to autonomously interact with SQLite databases.

From what the protocol is to installing your first server, these answers cover most first questions.
An open protocol that defines how AI applications connect to external tools and data in a uniform way. Clients talk to the model; MCP servers provide tools, resources and prompt templates. They exchange standard messages, so one server can be reused by many clients.
