About tell-and-go
tell-and-go is a hosted MCP server for searching hotel and resort stays, obtaining dated quotes, and starting real bookings from AI agents. It offers live rates and hands payment off to a hosted Stripe checkout, so the agent does not handle card data.
Key features
- 01Search hotel and resort inventory
- 02View property details
- 03Get live dated quotes
- 04Prebook a quoted rate
- 05Create a hosted Stripe checkout link
Use cases
- 01Find stays for a trip
- 02Compare dated rates and booking terms
- 03Start a booking for travelers to complete checkout
MCP support
Provides remote MCP tools over streamable HTTP for stay search, property details, quoting, prebooking, and booking checkout. Booking produces a hosted Stripe checkout link; payment is completed by the traveler.
Configuration
Remote servers need no local install. Pick your client, then copy the config or install in one click.

Servers that need sign-in will prompt on first connect.
Tools
10| Parameter | Type | Required | Description |
|---|---|---|---|
| limit | integer | No | Max number of results to return (default 10, max 20) |
| query | string | Yes | Natural-language search query, e.g. 'overwater villa honeymoon Maldives with spa' |
| adults | integer | No | Number of adult guests (default: 2, minimum: 1) |
| offset | integer | No | Pagination offset (default 0) |
| check_in | string | No | Check-in date (YYYY-MM-DD). Required for live pricing. |
| amenities | array | No | Required amenities, e.g. ['spa', 'pool', 'overwater villa', 'diving'] |
| check_out | string | No | Check-out date (YYYY-MM-DD). Required for live pricing. |
| residency | string | No | Optional at search time: uppercase ISO 3166-1 alpha-2 guest residency code used for supplier pricing, e.g. 'GB', 'US', 'AE'. When omitted the search assumes 'GB' and reports that assumption in effective_request.assumptions. Required (never defaulted) at get_quote — ask the traveler before quoting. |
| budget_max | number | No | Maximum total price per night in USD |
| budget_min | number | No | Minimum total price per night in USD |
| journey_id | string | No | Continuity handle returned as journey_id in previous Tell & Go tool results. Always pass the most recent journey_id you have received in this conversation. |
| destination | string | No | Destination name or country, e.g. 'Maldives', 'Mauritius'. Live destinations rotate — omit to search all. |
| children_ages | array | No | Ages of child guests, e.g. [8, 10]. Maximum 10 children. |

Tell & Go runs a public Model Context Protocol server. Connect any AI agent — Claude, ChatGPT, Cursor, Gemini CLI, Hermes, OpenClaw, or your own — and it can search live resort inventory, get exact live dated quotes, and start a real booking that completes on our secure checkout page.

Why this exists
Booking.com and Expedia built AI agents inside their own apps. We did the opposite: we opened our travel agency as a public MCP that works in every agent — before the big OTAs did.
| The question | The answer |
|---|---|
| Is it real? | Live inventory, real bookings, and confirmation email. A dated quote shows the selected rate's total and terms, including whether resort transfers are included. |
| Is it safe? | Search & quote are read-only. Booking only returns a hosted Stripe checkout URL on tellandgo.com. The agent never sees card data. |
| What's the catch? | None. Website rates, no markup for agent users, no account, MIT-licensed docs. |
| Why not Booking's agent? | Theirs is a closed app inside one assistant. Ours works in every client that speaks MCP. |
Tools
| Tool | What it does |
|---|---|
search_stays | Natural-language search over hotel and resort inventory; returns candidate stays and indicative pricing when available. Obtain a live quote to confirm bookability and transfer terms. |
get_stay_details | Full detail for one property: rooms, amenities, location, policies, indicative pricing. |
get_quote | A live, dated quote for a specific stay, dates, and guests, with the selected rate's total and terms. |
prebook_stay | Locks the quoted rate with the supplier before payment; returns a prebook_id for start_booking. If the supplier price changed, re-call with the returned terms_digest to accept it. |
start_booking | Returns a hosted Stripe Checkout link (checkout.stripe.com) that the traveler opens to pay. The agent never handles card data. |
Typical flow: search_stays → get_stay_details → get_quote → prebook_stay → start_booking
Example JSON-RPC calls
The MCP transport speaks JSON-RPC 2.0 over streamable-HTTP.
Initialize the session
{
"jsonrpc": "2.0", "id": 1, "method": "initialize",
"params": {
"protocolVersion": "2025-06-18",
"capabilities": {},
"clientInfo": { "name": "my-agent", "version": "1.0.0" }
}
}
List available tools
{ "jsonrpc": "2.0", "id": 2, "method": "tools/list", "params": {} }
Search for stays
{
"jsonrpc": "2.0", "id": 3, "method": "tools/call",
"params": {
"name": "search_stays",
"arguments": {
"query": "overwater villa in the Maldives for a honeymoon in October, all-in with seaplane transfer",
"check_in": "2026-10-12", "check_out": "2026-10-19", "adults": 2
}
}
}
Follow up with get_quote for an exact dated total, then prebook_stay to
lock the rate, then start_booking to receive the hosted checkout link the
traveler completes.
Try it with curl
# MCP handshake
curl -X POST https://mcp.tellandgo.com/mcp \
-H "Content-Type: application/json" \
-d '{"jsonrpc":"2.0","id":1,"method":"initialize"}'
# List tools
curl -X POST https://mcp.tellandgo.com/mcp \
-H "Content-Type: application/json" \
-d '{"jsonrpc":"2.0","id":2,"method":"tools/list"}'
What it can book
Curated, verified-bookable hotel & resort stays. The live set of destinations grows all the time — see the current coverage at tellandgo.com/en/destinations.
Each new market simply grows the catalog behind the same endpoint — your agent doesn't need to change anything.
Pricing
Free to connect. No account, no API key, no cost. Prices shown by the tools follow the same live rate and checkout flow as tellandgo.com. Check each quoted rate's meal plan, transfer inclusion, taxes, cancellation terms, and total before presenting it to the traveler. We never add a special markup for agent users.
Note
Fair use: ~60 requests/minute per IP, a tighter budget on search/quote/booking, and a global ceiling. Excess traffic gets
429+Retry-After. Building a product on this? Reach out for higher throughput.
FAQ
Is it free?
Yes. No account, no API key, no cost to connect.Are the prices the same as the website?
The live quoted rate is the source of truth. Transfer inclusion and meal plans depend on the selected rate.How does payment work?
start_booking returns a hosted Stripe checkout link on
tellandgo.com. The agent never touches card data; the traveler completes payment
securely.
Is it safe?
Search and quote are read-only. Booking only produces a checkout link you choose to complete — the MCP cannot charge anyone on its own. Tool annotations (readOnlyHint, openWorldHint) are set honestly.
Which MCP spec version?
2025-06-18. The server also answers 2024-11-05 for
older clients.

New to MCP?
From what the protocol is to installing your first server, these answers cover most first questions.
An open protocol that defines how AI applications connect to external tools and data in a uniform way. Clients talk to the model; MCP servers provide tools, resources and prompt templates. They exchange standard messages, so one server can be reused by many clients.
