LadDoc Cloud — LadDoc to SimaticML over MCP
RemoteAbout LadDoc Cloud — LadDoc to SimaticML over MCP
LadDoc Cloud converts LadDoc IR documents into V19 SimaticML that TIA Portal can import, with strict validation before generation. It serves PLC development workflows, produces deterministic output, and can cross-check symbols against a project inventory.
Key features
- 01Check the service's LAD-IR version
- 02Validate LadDoc documents and report issues
- 03Generate SimaticML for FC, FB, or OB blocks
- 04Generate XML only after validation passes
- 05Check symbols against a project inventory
Use cases
- 01Generate logic blocks for import into TIA Portal
- 02Find LadDoc document issues before generation
- 03Check symbols against a target project's inventory
- 04Produce repeatable SimaticML output
MCP support
The remote MCP server uses Streamable HTTP to provide version lookup, LadDoc validation, and SimaticML generation tools. Generation produces output only when validation passes.
Configuration
Remote servers need no local install. Pick your client, then copy the config or install in one click.

Details
From the project READMELadDoc Cloud — LadDoc → SimaticML over MCP
LadDoc Cloud turns a ladder-logic document (LadDoc IR) into SimaticML that TIA Portal imports directly — with a strict validation gate in front of the generator.
This repository is documentation and client configuration only. The service runs at
tia.hubwiz.com; its implementation is not open source.
- Endpoint:
https://tia.hubwiz.com/lad/mcp - Transport: Streamable HTTP (stateless, POST JSON-RPC)
- Auth:
Authorization: Bearer lad_live_…(theX-API-Keyheader is also accepted) - Dashboard / API keys: https://tia.hubwiz.com/lad
- Registry entry:
io.github.tia-forge/laddoc-cloud(official MCP Registry)
What it does
| Tool | Purpose |
|---|---|
lad_version | Free: returns the LAD-IR identity this service implements (schemaVersion, bundleHash, sourceCommit) |
lad_validate | Validate one LadDoc document; returns valid plus issues with code / path / message |
lad_generate | Generate a SimaticML block (FC / FB / OB) — only if validation passes |
Behaviour worth knowing:
- Validation is the gate. One issue and no XML is produced — you never hand TIA Portal a block that cannot be imported. Fix and retry; the remaining issues come back in full.
- Deterministic output. The same LadDoc always produces byte-identical SimaticML;
UIds and connections are assigned by the generator. - Target format: V19 SimaticML documents.
- Optional cross-check: pass the target project's inventory to catch symbol mismatches before generation.
- One document per call: to generate several blocks, call once per block (called FC/FBs are submitted as their own documents).

Notes
- This service produces text/XML; it does not touch a running TIA Portal. To import the result and compile it, use TIA Portal itself or the on-machine gateway (TiaLink).
- Free companion: PLC Cloud Sim runs the logic before you import it.

From what the protocol is to installing your first server, these answers cover most first questions.
An open protocol that defines how AI applications connect to external tools and data in a uniform way. Clients talk to the model; MCP servers provide tools, resources and prompt templates. They exchange standard messages, so one server can be reused by many clients.
