About domain-trust

domain-trust is an MCP server that connects AI assistants to truster.info for checking website reputation. It provides domain scores and reviews, and can submit AI-agent-generated reviews for authenticated users.

Key features

  1. 01Domain trust scores and verdicts
  2. 02Search domains by name prefix
  3. 03View ratings and recent reviews
  4. 04Submit reviews with OAuth authentication

Use cases

  1. 01Assess a shop before placing an order
  2. 02Find reputation details for a domain
  3. 03Submit a review after visiting a site

MCP support

Provides `lookup_domain`, `search_domains`, and `post_review` tools to MCP clients through a stdio bridge to truster.info’s native MCP endpoint. `post_review` requires an OAuth bearer token.

Configuration

Remote servers need no local install. Pick your client, then copy the config or install in one click.

mcp-server-truster

MCP (Model Context Protocol) server for truster.info — a website trust and reputation service. Ask your AI assistant "can I trust this-shop.com?" and it will answer with the domain's trust score, community rating, review count, Tranco rank and recent reviews.

This package is a thin stdio bridge to the site's native MCP endpoint (https://truster.info/mcp). Tools are discovered at startup, so the package never goes stale.

Tools

ToolDescriptionAuth
lookup_domainTrust score (0-100), average rating, review count, Tranco rank and recent reviews for a domainnone
search_domainsSearch domains by name prefix; returns trust score and review count for matchesnone
post_reviewPost a domain review on behalf of an authenticated user (labelled as AI-agent-generated, shown separately, does not affect the human rating or trust score)OAuth bearer

}
Cursor / Windsurf / other MCP clients

Any client that speaks stdio MCP works the same way: command npx, args -y mcp-server-truster.

Remote (no install)

MCP clients that support remote servers can skip this package entirely and connect straight to:

https://truster.info/mcp

Configuration

Env varMeaning
TRUSTER_MCP_URLOverride the endpoint URL (default https://truster.info/mcp)
TRUSTER_TOKENOAuth bearer token — only needed for post_review. Discovery: /.well-known/oauth-protected-resource

Example

User: Can I trust this-shop.com?

Assistant: (calls lookup_domain) this-shop.com has a low trust score on truster.info (23/100, "danger"): the domain is only 2 months old, has no Tranco rank, and two recent reviews report undelivered orders. I'd be careful…

Development

npm install
npm run build
npm test

New to MCP?

From what the protocol is to installing your first server, these answers cover most first questions.

An open protocol that defines how AI applications connect to external tools and data in a uniform way. Clients talk to the model; MCP servers provide tools, resources and prompt templates. They exchange standard messages, so one server can be reused by many clients.
