About Tollbooth Swap API

Tollbooth Swap API is an MCP server for non-custodial token swaps and token safety checks across eight chains. It offers free quotes and token resolution, while paid calls use USDC payments through x402.

Key features

  1. 01Resolve token symbols to addresses
  2. 02Get indicative swap quotes
  3. 03Screen for honeypots and rug pulls
  4. 04Build unsigned swap transactions
  5. 05Verify build receipts
  6. 06Pay per call in USDC via x402

Use cases

  1. 01Identify a token contract from its ticker
  2. 02Check a token before a swap
  3. 03Prepare a transaction for wallet signing
  4. 04Verify a receipt from a previous build

MCP support

The MCP server exposes token resolution, quote, safety screening, swap-building, receipt verification, and service-information tools. Paid tools accept x402 payments in USDC; without a payer key they return payment instructions.

Configuration

Remote servers need no local install. Pick your client, then copy the config or install in one click.

tollboothswap-mcp — Token Swaps & Honeypot Checks for AI Agents (MCP Server)

MCP server for Tollbooth: non-custodial token swap execution and token safety screening on 8 chains — Solana, Base, Ethereum, Arbitrum, Polygon, Optimism, BSC, Avalanche. Quotes and symbol resolution are free; swap builds (~$0.005) and safety checks ($0.01) are paid per-call in USDC via the x402 protocol — no API keys, no accounts, no subscriptions.

Quick start

npx tollboothswap-mcp
Claude Desktop / Cursor / any MCP client
{
  "mcpServers": {
    "tollbooth": {
      "command": "npx",
      "args": ["-y", "tollboothswap-mcp"],
      "env": {
        "TOLLBOOTH_PAYER_KEY": "0x<EVM private key holding USDC on Base>"
      }
    }
  }
}

TOLLBOOTH_PAYER_KEY is optional: without it the free tools (resolve_token, get_quote, get_service_info, get_receipt) work fully, and paid tools return x402 payment instructions instead of results. With it, tolls are paid automatically and gaslessly (EIP-3009 — the key never spends gas, only USDC).

Tools

ToolCostWhat it does
resolve_tokenfreeTicker symbol → contract addresses, ranked by DEX liquidity
get_quotefreeFee-inclusive indicative swap quote
check_token$0.01Honeypot / rug-pull / freeze-authority / sell-tax screening with verdict + findings
build_swap~$0.005Unsigned, ready-to-sign swap transaction + HMAC-signed receipt (safeMode screens both tokens first)
get_receiptfreeVerify a past build receipt by id
get_service_infofreeService manifest: chains, fees, pricing

Trust model

Tollbooth is non-custodial: it builds transactions but never holds keys or funds. Your agent signs and submits everything with its own wallet. Every paid build returns a signed receipt for audit trails.

From what the protocol is to installing your first server, these answers cover most first questions.

An open protocol that defines how AI applications connect to external tools and data in a uniform way. Clients talk to the model; MCP servers provide tools, resources and prompt templates. They exchange standard messages, so one server can be reused by many clients.
