About azure-table-storage

azure-table-storage is a guidance skill for agents working with Azure Table Storage. It combines local reference material with network-fetched documentation on design, security, limits, monitoring, and PowerShell operations.

Key features

  1. 01Schema and key design guidance
  2. 02Performance and quota references
  3. 03Microsoft Entra ID and RBAC security
  4. 04Monitoring metrics and logs
  5. 05PowerShell data-operation patterns

Use cases

  1. 01Plan query-efficient table schemas
  2. 02Review access controls and data protection
  3. 03Check throughput limits and capacity
  4. 04Script entity and table operations

MCP support

The skill uses mcp_microsoftdocs:microsoft_docs_fetch to retrieve documentation when available, with webpage fetching as a fallback.

Install

Copy the command and run it in a terminal.

$npx skills add https://github.com/microsoftdocs/agent-skills --skill azure-table-storage

After installing, type/azure-table-storagein Claude Code to confirm it loaded.

Azure Table Storage Skill

This skill provides expert guidance for Azure Table Storage. Covers best practices, architecture & design patterns, limits & quotas, security, configuration, and integrations & coding patterns. It combines local quick-reference content with remote documentation fetching capabilities.

How to Use This Skill

IMPORTANT for Agent: Use the Category Index below to locate relevant sections. For categories with line ranges (e.g., L35-L120), use read_file with the specified lines. For categories with file links (e.g., [security.md](security.md)), use read_file on the linked reference file

IMPORTANT for Agent: If metadata.generated_at is more than 3 months old, suggest the user pull the latest version from the repository. If mcp_microsoftdocs tools are not available, suggest the user install it: Installation Guide

This skill requires network access to fetch documentation content:

  • Preferred: Use mcp_microsoftdocs:microsoft_docs_fetch with query string from=learn-agent-skill. Returns Markdown.
  • Fallback: Use fetch_webpage with query string from=learn-agent-skill&accept=text/markdown. Returns Markdown.
