About catalyst-zoho-mcp
A skill that guides AI agents through connecting to and using Zoho Catalyst MCP tools. It requires connection setup confirmation, checks the data center, establishes organization and project context, and points to tool and DataStore references.
Key features
- 01Checks for Catalyst MCP tool availability
- 02Guides global or personal server setup
- 03Verifies data center and project context
- 04Routes DataStore questions to dedicated guidance
- 05Directs calls to CatalystbyZoho tools
Use cases
- 01Setting up a Catalyst MCP connection
- 02Resolving an empty organization list caused by the data center
- 03Selecting a project before using Catalyst tools
- 04Creating tables or columns through MCP
MCP support
The skill guides setup and use of Zoho Catalyst MCP servers, including global and personal server options. It directs clients to use the `CatalystbyZoho_*` tools after connection and project context are confirmed.

Details
From the project READMEHow It Works
-
Check if MCP is connected — Look for
CatalystbyZoho_*tools in your tool list. -
MCP NOT connected — HARD STOP. Do NOT write any code, create any files, or call any SDK. Ask the user which setup path they prefer, then load
references/zoho-mcp.mdand follow only that path. Do not proceed to step 3 until the user confirmsCatalystbyZoho_*tools are visible in their client. To work with Catalyst via MCP, choose your setup path:
Option A — Global MCP Server (recommended)
Add your DC-specific URL to your AI client config, authorize once via browser, done. No console needed. US:
https://catalyst.zohomcp.com/mcp/message, EU:https://catalyst.zohomcp.eu/mcp/message, IN:https://catalyst.zohomcp.in/mcp/message, AU:https://catalyst.zohomcp.com.au/mcp/message, CA:https://catalyst.zohomcp.ca/mcp/message, SA:https://catalyst.zohomcp.sa/mcp/message, JP:https://catalyst.zohomcp.jp/mcp/message, UAE:https://catalyst.zohomcp.ae/mcp/message.Option B — Personal MCP Server (custom/team setup) Create your own server at mcp.zoho.com, select tools, get a personal URL with a token embedded.
Which would you prefer?
- Pre-flight sequence — In order:
- Confirm DC first. Wrong DC = empty org list. Use
/catalyst-by-zoho:switch-dcto switch data centers ifCatalystbyZoho_List_All_Organizationsreturns empty or the wrong org. - Run
CatalystbyZoho_List_All_Organizations→CatalystbyZoho_List_All_Projectsto set project context before any other MCP tool call.
- Confirm DC first. Wrong DC = empty org list. Use
- Load
references/zoho-mcp.md— for the full tool catalog, execution flow, and common error fixes. - If the query involves DataStore (create table, add columns, query data) — also load
references/mcp-datastore.md. - Answer — Call the appropriate
CatalystbyZoho_*tool directly. Show the user what tool was called and what it returned.
