About interfaces-that-feel
A design skill for shaping interfaces around users’ emotional states, intended for designers refining interaction details and copy. It translates felt experience into behavioral qualities such as weight, resistance, and recovery.
Key features
- 01Maps user feelings to physical analogues
- 02Applies behavioral qualities to interface timing
- 03Includes copy voice by state
- 04Defines emotional timing principles
Use cases
- 01Adjusting easing to convey resistance
- 02Writing interface copy for different user states

What it does
The Owl-Listener affective-design method: name the user’s felt state → find a physical-world analogue → extract a behavioral property (weight, resistance, recovery arc) → apply it to easing, delay, copy tone, or spacing. Includes a copy-voice-by-state table and emotional-timing principles.
