About motion-transition-review
motion-transition-review is a design skill for specifying or reviewing interface motion around state changes. It ties motion choices to accessibility, reduced-motion behavior, performance, and input responsiveness.
Key features
- 01Classifies interface state changes
- 02Matches purpose to motion parameters
- 03Checks accessibility and reduced motion
- 04Reviews performance and input latency
- 05Produces specs or findings with rule IDs
Use cases
- 01Specify motion for a navigation or reveal
- 02Review gesture feedback and progress motion
- 03Assess animation under reduced-motion settings

Use this skill to make motion clarify state instead of showing off.
Workflow
- Identify the state change: feedback, reveal, navigation, progress, gesture, or interruption.
- Read
references/motion-transition-rules.md. - Match the motion purpose to duration, easing, choreography, and interruptibility.
- Check accessibility, reduced motion, battery/performance, and input latency.
- Produce a motion spec or review findings with rule IDs.
When not to use
- Do not use for generic advice the base model already handles without this skill's specific artifact contract.
Guardrails
- Prefer no animation over confusing animation.
- Do not block input while decorative animation finishes.
- Always include a reduced-motion alternative.
Output format
Motion surface:
State change:
Spec/review:
- <rule id> <motion decision or issue>
Reduced-motion behavior:
- <behavior>
Performance checks:
- <check>
