About w-perf
w-perf is a repository performance-analysis skill for developers and coding agents. It uses measured evidence to find hot paths, recommends the smallest change, and re-measures only when changes are authorized.
Key features
- 01Capture a measured performance baseline
- 02Locate hot paths using evidence
- 03Recommend the smallest change
- 04Implement only with authorization
- 05Re-measure after changes
Use cases
- 01Investigate a slow query or render path
- 02Compare performance before and after a change
- 03Document a needed budget in testing docs

Details
From the project READMEFind performance issues with a measured baseline. Do not invent SLOs or impact percentages. Report-only unless the user asked to implement.
- Read testing docs for budgets if present. Capture a baseline with the repo profiler, traces, tests, or
ghjob timing — not estimates. - Locate the owning hot path (query, render, allocation) with that evidence.
- Recommend the smallest change. Implement only when authorized. Re-measure after a change.
- If a new budget is required, document it in existing testing docs instead of inventing an SLO here.
- Docs:
/w-docsif behavior or commands changed.
