About w-perf
w-perf is a workflow skill for finding performance issues through measured baselines. It guides repository maintainers to locate hot paths and recommend or verify changes without inventing targets.
Key features
- 01Capture a measured performance baseline
- 02Trace evidence to the owning hot path
- 03Recommend minimal changes
- 04Re-measure changes after implementation
- 05Document budgets in existing test docs
Use cases
- 01Investigating a slow query, render, or allocation
- 02Checking performance changes against a baseline

Details
From the project READMEFind performance issues with a measured baseline. Do not invent SLOs or impact percentages. Report-only unless the user asked to implement.
- Read testing docs for budgets if present. Capture a baseline with the repo profiler, traces, tests, or
ghjob timing — not estimates. - Locate the owning hot path (query, render, allocation) with that evidence.
- Recommend the smallest change. Implement only when authorized. Re-measure after a change.
- If a new budget is required, document it in existing testing docs instead of inventing an SLO here.
- Docs:
/w-docsif behavior or commands changed.
